| The Role of Perceptions and Thought Patterns in Health |

Our thoughts create. That’s why the way we think creates the way we understand and perceive our reality. The way we think also explains our relationship to our bodies, healthy or otherwise. We have our own way to think and explain to ourselves why things happen the way they happen. For example, thought patterns are the reason for why we do what we do. Thoughts underlie our motives for doing things and for making choices. Thoughts are the most powerful of all the forces in the world! They are keystone to our beliefs about the world, how it works and our place in it. There are many thoughts which lead to beliefs that foster helpless and hopeless feelings. These negative thoughts can create out of control feelings, hostility and cynicism towards others, an inability to express feelings, social isolation and lack of enthusiasm about living life to its fullest. These hopeless, helpless feelings often foster dis-ease in the body. ![]() Thoughts are the most powerful of all the forces in the world! ![]() On the other hand, there are patterns of thoughts and feelings that seem to be associated with health and joy in living Life to its fullest. People who have a basically optimistic outlook on life and who can let go of a bad situation, tend to be healthier than pessimistic, negative-thinking people. As an example, an Optimist knows intuitively that there are always choices to be made and this can bring with it it’s own sense of control and improved health potential. Hypnotherapy assists the client in the process of thought creation and transformation. Hypnotic Suggestion is based on the client’s Desire to change, Belief and Expectancy that the change can happen by projecting, visualizing, feeling and knowing an outcome before it occurs. Positive suggestion management during a safe and receptive state of hypnosis is a simple, yet very effective protocol assisting client’s positive internalization. This shift in internal dialogue may stimulate a placebo response of the body, which releases endorphins for feelings of well being, relief from pain and discomfort, and a calm, balanced and centered client. Client may also then dissociate from the symptoms viewing self in a more comfortable objective manner. Reorganizing internal responses and belief systems are by-products of hypnotic intervention. This contemporary protocol of Hypnotherapy is being taught at the state-licensed, Nationally approved National Hypnotherapy Training Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. From pain management issues, to sleep challenges, to weight loss, stress management and smoking abatement, memory enhancement, confidence and self-esteem, NHTC offers a practical, hands-on approach to hypnotism training.
